Description
AMD FX-51 @ 2.26Ghz with Tt Silent-Tower Plus (AS5), Asus SK8V, 2x512MB Corsair XMS3200RE Twin-X Dual-Channel DDR-400R/ECC @ DDR418 2-3-2-5, ATI X800XT-PE (Reference) @ 527/560 w Stock Cooling, 1x WD1200JB OS/System HDD, 1x WD2500JB Storage Drive, 4x Samsung Spinpoint 120GB in RAID0 for Games/Apps Cooling consisted of 1x 80mm + 1x 92mm + 1x 120mm Front Intake Fans, 1x 92mm Side Intake Fan (blowing over GPU), 2x 80mm Top Exhaust Fans, 1x 92mm Rear Exhaust Fan; CPU HSF used 2x 92x38mm Delta .98amp 113cfm/38mmH2O fans in push-pull, GPU had 1x 80mm fan cooling back of PCB, an extra 120mm (800rpm 49.5cfm) fan blew out hot GPU air thru PCI Slots, 70x15mm 28cfm fan cooled rear of CPU bracket/MB PCB, 3x 60x12mm 18cfm fans cooling MOSFET/VRM area on MB. Stay tuned, I am bringing this beast back from it's slumber... ...and I will be trying to trump my prior overclock records of: CPU - 2.652Ghz 221mem*12Xmulti (14F Ambient, 64C CPU Load) RAM - DDR-522 3-3-3-6 261*10multi for 2.61Ghz (DDR-442 for best CPU OC) GPU - 608Mhz Core and 659Mhz VRAM (14F Ambient, 61C GPU Load) Going to add some C110 Cu VRAM Heatsinks and a high-end air cooler to see how high I can push the X800XT-PE on air, and then switch to water. For the CPU, I am going to use a more modern, but similar-priced (as the Silent Tower Ultra was in '03) HSF with 2x 120x38 Delta fans and Prolimatech PK1 TIM. The CPU and HSF are Lapped (200, 400, 600, 800, 1200, 1600, 2200, 3000, 4000 grit sandpapers, then finished with a high-speed water buffing and then copper polishing compound; at University Lab, used a $280k microscope to measure pitting, and avg pitting size/depth is 0.000002"). Motherboard will have proper VRM/MOSFET cooling, both passive Copper heatsinks and active air cooling. NB/SB will be equipped with very good copper heatsinks and 80x38mm fans. RAM will be actively cooled. Will try five runs inside the house (Ambient of 72F 24/7), and 5 runs outside when the temps are stable for ~2hrs at a desired level (looking for 10F). Then I'll repeat, but with Water Cooling (using period-correct blocks for CPU, MB, and GPU; modern MCP35X pump, and 2x 480 rads with 16x 2600rpm Koolance 120x38mm fans in push-pull)
